Not an "A" student...

Vicky needs to learn how to study more. The OB nurse called me today and informed me that Vic got a big "F" on her glucose test this week. I called Vic at work and told her that she would have to retake the test and because she didn't get it right the first time - she gets to take the extended version! Laughing to herself - she tells me - I guess I shouldn't have had all of those carbs the day before. It's not like she eats any sweets - she can't have them. No chocolate, no ice cream, no Kr*spy Kre.mes. She can only have strawberry P*p-tarts and that craving is slowly dwindling. What am I going to do with her?? She already has one of the healthiest diets on earth! There may be bloodshed if she doesn't pass the next test and I have to take away her pasta!!

Other musings of the Mom-in-training:

V: How much longer do I have? (holding her basketball sized belly)
Me: About 10-11 weeks, why?
V: I'm ready for you to start carrying her around!

Gotta love her!

28 weeks...

We had another OB appointment this week. Vicky did the glucose test and we are still waiting for the results but I think she will do well. She has gained a whopping 8 pounds in the last five weeks! Grow, Baby Grow!! She looks great. She is having a little difficulty getting comfortable at night but otherwise doing great. The doctor told us that she was having a great healthy pregnancy and that she would see us in two weeks.

Vic has been making several to do lists lately. Before I can get through one - she hands me another. So I think I am getting ahead and slowly and steadily marking things to do off of the list. When we went to the doctor this week, what does the nurse hand us?? Another to do list!! Things to get done before the next appointment - in two weeks! Now, it is not a very long list - maybe 9-10 items on the list but they are big things. Things like pick a pediatrician, preregister at the hospital, talk to the anesthesiologist regarding epidural options, schedule and attend childbirth classes, etc... We have been discussing these things as time has gone by - but now it is time to make a decision. Ok, I think I am starting to get a little overwhelmed. It's coming and it will be here shortly and the time left feels like it is going to fly.

There is still lots to think about and decisions to be made. What keeps me sane at the moment is watching Vic blossom into motherhood. And ultimately holding the precious angel in my arms.

Mardi Gras

It's been a great while since I updated last. We have been super busy and having some fun too. We spent Groundhog Day in Baton Rouge with the Aunties at the Spanishtown Mardi Gras Parade. We had lots of fun and caught lots of beads.

I put together a slide show of the parade... hope you enjoy...

Oh - The nursery is finished too! Will post pics later!
